Meet Ron & Phyllis Overton
Ron & Phyllis Overton have been involved in ministry since the early 1990’s. Ron was born again in late 1986 but did not come to fully understand redemptive truth until April 22, 1990 after attending Lakewood Church. It was at Lakewood Church under the teaching of late John Osteen that the things of God were imparted into Ron’s life.
Phyllis was raised in a Pentecostal church and received Jesus as her Lord and Savior at a young age. She enjoys teaching on healthy eating habits. Together, Ron & Phyllis form the foundation of The Church International.
We have two kids and a daughter-in-law: our son Tyler & his wife Savannah are both teachers; and our daughter Jessica just started her teaching career the Spring 2021.
God has put a strong, unquenchable desire inside of us to help re-establish order in the body of Christ and help bring about His glorious church across America and the world. In 1987, the Lord Jesus appeared to Ron and said,
“Ron, the kingdom of God is at hand, the end of the world is upon us, I want you to go prepare the way. I can’t be with you any longer, but I want you to go prepare the way.”
But it was not until January 2002 that the purpose of the visitation was revealed. Jesus has always wanted to build His church, and build it in order. The church has gone through quite a history since the day of Pentecost 2000 years ago. We believe God wants to restore the church to how it looked in the Book of Acts:
1st Corinthians 12:28, “And God has appointed these in the church: first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, administrations, varieties of tongues.”
The miraculous and the gifts of healings in masses similar to what occurred in the Book of Acts fall into place when the church is in order. Our hearts ache to see the lost come to know Jesus as Lord and Savior. Our hearts are stirred to see revival fires in the body of Christ; to see Christians and the church operate in the fullness of God.
